Dr Lisa Alfrey is a doctoral-level psychologist with over a decade of experience spanning clinical practice, corporate wellbeing, qualitative research and psychoeducation. Recognised by PsyCo as a non-clinical psychologist in Switzerland, she now works exclusively in psychoeducation — creating courses, workshops, and tools that make psychological knowledge genuinely accessible to the people who need it most.
Her doctorate from Regents University London produced original research into the lived experience of burnout — research that forms the foundation of the Alfrey Burnout Index and her approach to burnout psychoeducation. Where most burnout resources focus on symptoms and surface-level strategies, Dr Alfrey's work goes deeper — into identity, meaning, shame and the profound existential questions that illness and exhaustion surface. It is an approach shaped by years of clinical experience across NHS GP practices, oncology settings at Harley Street, community counselling and trauma services.
Dr Alfrey worked with Bupa Health and Wellbeing delivering psychological programmes nationwide, and co-founded a company providing qualitative research training, CPD workshops, and bespoke corporate training. That background — bridging rigorous psychological science with the practical realities of organisations and individuals under pressure — is exactly what her psychoeducation programmes are built on.
Dr Alfrey brings the same intellectual rigour she brought to doctoral research to everything she creates for clients and organisations. Her work is grounded in compassion-focused therapy, existential psychology, and a genuine belief that understanding your own psychology is one of the most transformative things you can do.
Working internationally, she offers psychoeducational courses, workshops, and tools for individuals navigating burnout, return to work, parenting, dating, and professional development — and for the organisations that want to support them.
